A little help with your household finances.

For a technical issue, include your app version and build, iOS or macOS version, device model, and a short description of what happened. You can find the version and build in Settings → About Homefin.

Please leave out financial amounts, household names, receipts, bank details, passwords and invitation links. Crop or hide private information in screenshots before sending them. We do not need your household backup to answer an initial support request.

Getting started

Homefin is in development for iPhone and Mac and is not yet publicly available on the App Store. In the app, open Settings → How Homefin Works for an introduction to budgets, expenses, subscriptions, savings and sharing. Settings → App notices contains current information from the developer.

Changes are not appearing on another device

Check that both devices have an internet connection and iCloud is available. For your own devices, use the same Apple Account and select the same household. If you joined someone else’s household, check that your invitation was accepted and your access is still active. Open Homefin on both devices and allow time for changes to sync.

Local work remains available offline; sharing and updates between devices need iCloud connectivity. If an error persists, contact support with the error message, leaving out private details. Avoid deleting the app or resetting data as a first troubleshooting step.

Invitations and household access

The household owner manages invitations and access under Settings → Manage Access. If an invitation no longer works, ask the owner for a new one. Treat an invitation link as private and send it only to the intended person.

Leaving a household does not delete the owner’s records or other members’ data. Existing entries can retain a former member’s name so household history remains understandable.

Backups and exports

Open Settings → Export & Backup. Spreadsheet exports help you review records elsewhere; a portable household backup is the option for recovery and includes receipt files. Household owners also have up to three automatic restore points, with a private iCloud copy when available.

Keep exported files somewhere you trust: they contain household information. Review the preview and confirmation before restoring. The developer cannot retrieve your private iCloud records or recover files you have deleted.

App Lock and reminders

App Lock uses your device’s authentication, such as Face ID, Touch ID, device passcode or Mac login password. If authentication is unavailable, check the device’s system settings. Homefin has no separate password for support to reset.

For reminders, check Homefin’s notification preferences and the notification permission in your device’s settings. Focus modes and system notification settings can affect delivery.

Erase your Homefin data

Open Settings → Data & Privacy → Erase All My Homefin Data and read the confirmation carefully. This deletes households you own and revokes collaborators, leaves households shared with you, and removes Homefin’s automatic backups and local data. Other owners and their members keep their household records.

Export first if you need to keep your records or hand an owned household to someone else; ownership cannot be transferred in place. Exported files and ordinary device backups are managed separately. This action does not delete your Apple Account.
